ATA Carnets for the Media & Creative Industries
Bahrain
Liverpool Chamber of Commerce announced on May 1, 2014 that the Kingdom of Bahrain will join the ATA Carnet system and will begin accepting carnets effective June 1, 2014. Following the United Arab Emirates in 2011, the Kingdom of Bahrain is the second GCC Member State to join the ATA Carnet Chain. Bahrain is the 84th country to join the ATA Carnet scheme.
Bahrain (ISO code is BH) will accept ATA Carnets for the intended uses of:

The National Guaranteeing Association is Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Carnets ARE accepted for transit operations.
Carnets are NOT accepted for unaccompanied goods.
Carnets are NOT accepted for goods that are posted.
Special Conditions apply:
Final Date of Re-exportation–Carnet entries may be restricted to six months.
Split/partial Shipments– Bahrain does not allow partial or split shipments. Any shipment entering Bahrain must be re-exported in its entirety.
Customs office at Bahrain airport – The office will process Carnets from Saturday to Thursday, from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. Currently, it is not clear if air and sea cargo offices also follow these same hours.
